I love the tactile aspect of threads, fibres, and textiles and the many ways they can be combined and manipulated through line, colour and form. Creating a surface for further additions can be as interesting as the additions that follow.

Inspiration most often comes from nature and family events and activities, but everyday happenings, books, the internet can offer the occasional spark.

Hand embroidery is mostly my first choice for my work but machine embroidery, felting, beads, buttons, wire, dyes, paint are some of the materials that come into play. Recently I’ve been adding 3 dimensional features to the surface to represent forms.
